Fall Update

Last year I wrote a “What I am up to this fall” blog post, so I thought I should keep the tradition alive and do a fall update today. Also, today happens to be Halloween/Samhain/Full Blue Moon. The witchy folxs have much to celebrate!

My Practice

For me, the call right now is to keep it simple and to be more mindful about how and what I share.

In the age of social media, I have found myself snapping a photo of my tarot cards even before I interpret them for myself. The times I have caught myself doing that, I stop and notice what I am about to do and ask myself why do I feel the need to share? I have stopped myself from sharing many times, especially those times when I feel that I am sharing just for the sake of sharing.

Journaling

Other than reading and working with the tarot I have also been enjoying journaling and I want to share more about that side of my practice. One of my to-do activities is to organize and display my journals in a better way.

Lately, I have noticed that I kind of take writing for granted. Although, it’s such a big part of my life, for me it feels like taking a shower or brushing my teeth, it’s just something that I do without much thought. But because it’s an important part of my spiritual practice, I want to approach it with more reverence and ritual.

A few days ago I was reflecting on how I don’t put a lot of thought into the tools I use for writing. I will usually find any random notebook to write in. I realized that I do this because I don’t feel worthy of a more luxurious writing experience. As soon as I identified that belief, I knew that some nicer journals were in my future.

Writing with simple and easy to find tools is what I have done all of my life and is totally fine. Although I hope to get more fancy tools, I might find that the simple tools are more my type. I don’t know if anyone who does not have a writing practice will understand my dilemma 😅, but this is where I find myself currently.

I will explore other ways to add more reverence and ritual to my writing practice and I look forward to sharing how that is going.

Creative Practice

During the first half of October I joined a collage challenge on Instagram. It was a lot of fun and I am glad I participated since I always felt that collage was something I could not learn/do.

Some of my collage cards for the #collactober challenge.

I am working on a small creativity journal/workbook that I will share here in my blog in the next few weeks, stay tuned for that!

I have also been enjoying making graphics on Canva. Like the ones below.

I am working on a couple of oracle cards sets which I hope to share with you all soon.

I have neglected by podcast in the last month, but I hope to record at least 1 episode per month, you can listen to my current episodes here.

Thank you for reading my fall update. I would love to know what you have been up to in the comments!
