Can you believe that we are nearing the middle of November already? With the holidays coming up November and December are usually a blur.
Around this time last year I started my journey into the tarot. I bought my first deck, the Universal Rider Waite; I joined two Instagram challenges (they were the #twtarotchallenge and #modernmysticchallenge) I was already an over achiever since the beginning. I did my first few pulls in my personal account, but I soon realized if I was really going to join this community I needed an account devoted to it, and the rest is history, as they say.
I’ve met some wonderful people on this path, and some have become close friends whom I cherish and miss when they go on a social media breaks. The tarot community on Instagram is very supportive, I love being a part of it.
Earlier this year I started offering readings for people who may need them, I’ve had the opportunity to provide encouraging messages to my friends and clients. I enjoy having this skill, and using it to bring comfort and guidance to those who seek it.
This fall I am embarking on another journey, I am taking my writing more seriously. I have made a goal for myself to write a series of short stories over the next year, and by October 2017, I hope to self-publish them, even if just as a downloadable file here on my blog. Being a writer is my longest held dream, the one that has never left me, no matter where I find myself in life.
Earlier in October I turned 30, and even though the difference between 29 and 30 is really not that significant, I feel different. Now that I am 30 I feel that I have the right to certain things, I have the right to not give a crap about what other people think, I have the right to say what I think, I have the right to express who I am.
Maybe it’s not so much that I have the right, as much as I feel I now have the confidence to do those things. I also feel like I have more responsibilities too, I am making myself responsible for cooking the Thanksgiving dinner this year (something that I have never done), taking my motherhood even more seriously and being more intentional, nourishing my marriage and friendship to my husband, and really developing and continuing to grow my spiritual practice.
This upcoming year will be full of adventures and good memories, with the occasional meltdown, probably. I’m excited. I hope your fall transitions are also leaving you excited for what lies ahead.
